Jorja Johnson and Rachel Rohrabacher, the No. 2 seeds, defeated Tyra Black and Parris Todd 11-2, 11-9 on Saturday to reach the women’s doubles final at the PPA Tour Bristol Open in Bristol, Tennessee. This is only their second tournament playing together.
Quick Start and Strong Finish
Johnson and Rohrabacher dominated the first game with an 11-2 win, using sharp shot placement and quick net play. The second game was more competitive, but the No. 2 seeds held off a late push from Black and Todd to secure the match.

Rohrabacher’s Perspective on the Left Side
With Jorja Johnson as her partner, Rachel Rohrabacher has been playing on the left side more often.
“When I first started playing pickleball, I started out on the left, and then when I got drafted in the [Orlando] Squeeze back in ‘23, I was on the right side and it kinda stuck…”.
“And now, playing with Jorja, I feel like I’m learning new things. It’s funny looking back to when I first started, because I have so many more shots. I thought I was good back then, but I’m like ‘oh man,’ but yeah, I’m enjoying it a lot.”(Rachel Rohrabacher)
Double Finals for Johnson and Waters
The win means both Jorja Johnson and Anna Leigh Waters will compete in two finals on Sunday, as each also advanced in mixed doubles. The matchup promises to be one of the highlights of Championship Sunday.
