Event Format
The MLPlay format is designed to offer competitive and social pickleball for teams of four (2 men and 2 women). Teams compete in a series of 21-point games across various divisions:
- Women’s Doubles
- Men’s Doubles
- Mixed Doubles (2 games)
In the event of a tie (2-2), a Dreambreaker is held, where players engage in singles matches, rotating every four rallies until a player reaches 21 points with a two-point lead.
DUPR Divisions
- DUPR 20: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 20.99
- DUPR 18: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 18.30 (Max player DUPR: 5.10)
- DUPR 16: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 16.30 (Max player DUPR: 4.60)
- DUPR 14: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 14.30 (Max player DUPR: 4.10)
The first-place teams in the DUPR 18 and 20 divisions will receive a $1,000 prize if a minimum of 8 teams are registered, with reduced prize money for at least 6 registered teams.
Registration and Requirements
- DUPR Account: Required for all participants. Not rated players can compete, with their estimated rating verified by the tournament director.
- Single Registrations: Players registering individually must note their team name and DUPR division. For those without a team, the tournament director will assist in placement, with refunds for unplaced players.
- Substitute Players: Substitutions are allowed but must not cause the team’s aggregate to exceed the event limit.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellation Deadline: Cancellations must be received by the end of day, 15 days prior to the event for a refund minus a $5 technology fee. No refunds will be issued after the deadline.
