Kate Fahey Hails Anna Bright’s Surprising Role as Fundamental to Her Success

Kate Fahey Hails Anna Bright: In the competitive landscape of professional pickleball player, Kate Fahey has quickly made her mark on the PPA Tour. With three women’s singles medals to her name—one gold and two silver—over the last five tournaments, her accomplishments stand out, particularly in a field filled with top-tier talent. Achieving such success in this highly competitive environment is no small feat, and Fahey’s hard work and dedication are evident in her performance.

The Impact of Teamwork

Fahey attributes much of her recent success to her training with the St. Louis Shock, a team within Major League Pickleball (MLP) that has propelled her game to new heights. “Getting drafted really helped me improve playing because my three teammates are some of the best players in the world,” she said, highlighting the significant influence of Anna Bright, Gabe Tardio, and Hayden Patriquin.

The opportunity to practice and compete alongside such elite players has proven invaluable for Fahey, allowing her to accelerate her development more rapidly than she might have on her own.

As the Shock sits atop the MLP Premier Level standings, just ahead of the Dallas Flash and the Texas Ranchers, the synergy among the team members is visible. Every single player on the roster is showcasing their best pickleball right now, making them a thrilling team to watch. Their collective energy not only enhances their performance in the MLP but also in PPA Tour events, which adds an exciting dynamic to the competition.

Bright’s Leadership

At the heart of the Shock’s success is Anna Bright, a player Fahey describes as a “natural leader.”She really helps coach us on and off the court. When we’re practicing, she’ll give me good pointers,” Fahey remarked. The mentorship Bright provides has proven to be instrumental in Fahey’s journey, further contributing to her ongoing improvement as a player.

Fahey’s commitment to learning from Bright even led her to South Florida for a recent training session, demonstrating her dedication to honing her skills. Bright has fully embraced her role as a mentor, offering feedback that extends beyond the confines of practice. “After events, she’ll send me stuff to work on, which has been really helpful because sometimes it’s hard to see yourself,” explained Fahey. “She has that outside perspective, so she can see some things that are working or need improvement. She’s helped me a ton. Anna has been fundamental in my improvement as a player.”

This level of guidance not only showcases Bright’s skills as a player but also her ability to uplift her teammates and foster their growth.
