WPA California State Championships 2024 is Set to Ignite at Dignity Health Sports Park

WPA California State Championships 2024: Pickleball players from across the state are gearing up for the WPA DUPR California State Championships, which will take place from November 28 through December 1, 2024, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Los Angeles. This pickleball event promises a weekend of intense competition, featuring men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, as well as singles play. With top amateurs competing for medals, the pickleball tournament is set to highlight some of the best pickleball talent in California.

Tournament Schedule and Format

The pickleball tournament kicks off with senior divisions on Friday, November 29, followed by men’s and women’s doubles on Saturday, November 30, starting at 9 a.m. Mixed doubles will dominate the morning action on Sunday, December 1, with singles play scheduled for the afternoon starting at 2 p.m.

Each doubles event will be limited to eight pairs in a round-robin format, with the top four advancing to a medal playoff. The round-robin matches are expected to complete within three hours, with an additional hour reserved for the playoff round.

As part of the tournament package, all registered players will receive a $30 discount on NOVA 16 or ASTRA 14 or 16 paddles from Paika Sports. Medalists will receive an even bigger incentive, earning a 50% discount on the entire paddle range.

Weather and Health Considerations

Given the outdoor setting, the event depends on the weather conditions. In case of rain, events will be rescheduled for the following two weekends, with refunds or credits available to players unable to attend the new dates.
