Angel Reese Makes Surprise Return to Unrivaled Season

Angel Reese is making a surprise comeback to the Unrivaled 3-on-3 basketball league for the remainder of the 2026 season, the league announced on Wednesday. Reese is signing with Rose BC, the same team she represented during the league’s inaugural 2025 season.

Roster Changes Open Door for Reese’s Return

After initially opting out of the Unrivaled 2026 season, Reese is stepping back into the league due to Rose BC’s open roster spot. This vacancy emerged following Aari McDonald’s season-ending right leg injury and a related three-team trade, creating an opportunity for Reese to rejoin the team.

Reese’s Impact and Previous Performance in Unrivaled

In 2025, Reese led the entire league in rebounds, averaging 12.1 rebounds per game. She delivered eight double-doubles during that season, including an unprecedented 20-20 performance with 22 points and 21 rebounds. Her defensive prowess earned her the title of Defensive Player of the Year. Although sidelined by a hand injury during the semifinals, a phase where Rose BC ultimately won the championship, Reese’s contributions were critical to the team’s success.
