Indiana Fever Support Timpson After Aliyah Boston Injury Update

The Indiana Fever faced a setback on Sunday when Aliyah Boston was declared out of the Unrivaled playoffs due to a right lower extremity injury. Boston, who earned the title of Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year in 2026, was originally set to compete with Phantom BC in the semifinals, following their No. 1 seed placement. The team is scheduled to face Vinyl BC at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday.

Additional Injury Sidelines Dana Evans, Replacements Named

Compounding the situation, Dana Evans also sustained a similar injury that ruled her out of postseason play. As a result, Unrivaled announced the addition of Fever forward Makayla Timpson and Dallas Wings guard Aziaha James as substitutes for the Phantom BC roster moving forward.

Fever Rally Behind Timpson Ahead of Playoff Debut

In light of these developments, the Indiana Fever showed their encouragement for Timpson, who will be making her first appearance in the popular 3-on-3 league. Performance-wise, Timpson remains a developer in Unrivaled’s player pool, having practiced throughout the 2026 season but not yet competed in a game.

The Fever expressed support on social media, writing, “let’s go, KK,” accompanied by a fire emoji.

Timpson’s prior experience with Indiana in 2025 featured 31 games played with averages of 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds. Her standout performance came in July against the Golden State Valkyries, where she scored 10 points, grabbed six rebounds, and contributed three steals and two blocks.

Significance of Boston’s Injury and What Lies Ahead

Aliyah Boston’s exit is a considerable loss for Phantom BC and highlights the physical toll of postseason competition. Her defensive prowess was a key element in the team’s success and will be missed as they prepare to face a tough opponent at Barclays Center. The addition of Timpson and James offers fresh talent, though their ability to fill the gap left by Boston and Evans remains to be seen.

With the playoffs underway, attention turns to how these roster changes will impact Phantom BC’s championship aspirations and whether Timpson can rise to the occasion in her debut on such a prominent stage.
