Elena Rybakina Stuns in Red Dress with Australian Open Trophy

Elena Rybakina appeared radiant in a striking red dress during her official champion’s photoshoot after securing the women’s singles title at the Australian Open on January 31. She showcased a commanding performance against Aryna Sabalenka, the reigning World No. 1 and two-time previous winner in Melbourne, to claim her first Grand Slam trophy.

The following morning, February 1, Rybakina, now ranked World No. 3, posed gracefully along the Yarra River in Melbourne, holding the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup, which honors the women’s singles champion of the tournament. The scenic backdrop amplified the significance of the moment for the 26-year-old Kazakh athlete.

Expressions of Gratitude After a Historic Win

During her celebrations, Rybakina shared a heartfelt message with her fans in video form, thanking them for their unwavering support throughout the intense two-week tournament. Along her path to victory, she defeated seeded players Elise Mertens, Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, and finally top seed Sabalenka in the final match.

“Hi everyone! Just wanted to say a big thank you for all the support. It’s an amazing morning here in Melbourne with this beautiful trophy. Thank you so much for the support throughout these two weeks and I felt the love and it really kept me going and I was fighting till the end. I’m super happy and already looking forward to come back next year,” Rybakina said.

Unexpected Milestone Revealed After Final Win

At the post-match press conference, Rybakina was surprised to learn that since last year’s Wimbledon Championships, no other WTA player has won as many matches as she has. This revelation highlighted her remarkable consistency and competitiveness across tournaments.

Asked about the reason for her recent dominance, Rybakina attributed it to her playing style and overall performance.

“I didn’t even know these statistics to be honest. The reason… I mean, I’ve been playing well. I have a very aggressive style of the game. So I think that’s definitely the key. I don’t know which other answer I can give you.”

Looking Ahead to Continued Success on the WTA Tour

Following her Australian Open triumph, Rybakina is expected to take a short break before resuming competition during the WTA Tour‘s Middle East Swing. She will enter the upcoming Abu Dhabi Open as the top-ranked contender, aiming to maintain the momentum she has built across recent events.
