Jessica Pegula secured a straight-sets victory over Elina Svitolina, 6-2, 6-4, to claim the Dubai Tennis Championships, completing her collection of WTA 1000 hard court titles. The 31-year-old American’s fourth WTA 1000 triumph marks an impressive milestone early in the 2026 season and adds to her rising momentum.

Following the win, Pegula expressed joy at the timing, as the tournament concluded just before her birthday on Tuesday.

“I couldn’t ask for a better birthday present. I’m just super proud of myself. I had to play at a very high level, it was awesome,” Pegula said in her on-court interview.

“I feel like when you can get off to a quick start, that eases the nerves a little bit.

MentalIly, I think, especially the match yesterday, I was down a set and 3-1, and I fought back, which made me feel free today. I trusted the things we’ve been working on and it paid off.”

Winning the Dubai Tennis Championships has boosted Pegula’s prize money earnings by 11.4% compared to last year, awarding her $665,000 for the title. This brings her total prize money for the 2026 season to $1,551,390, with career earnings now exceeding $23.4 million.

Despite falling short in the final, Elina Svitolina earned 585 ranking points in Dubai, maintaining her ninth place in the world rankings. She trails eighth-ranked Mirra Andreeva by 156 points and leads tenth-placed Victoria Mboko by 599 points. Svitolina has accumulated 1,735 points so far this season.

As runner-up, Svitolina received $385,001, bringing her year-to-date prize money total to $1,232,676.
