Abraham Lucas was born on October 25, 1998, in Everett, Washington. He grew up in this city and attended Archbishop Murphy High School, where he played both basketball and football. During his time at Archbishop Murphy, he was an offensive and defensive lineman on the football team. Lucas was rated a three-star recruit and chose to commit to play college football at Washington State University over offers from other schools such as Oregon State and Wyoming.

Path to American Football

Lucas redshirted his true freshman season at Washington State. He was named the Cougars’ starting right tackle going into his redshirt freshman season, starting all 13 games and earning second-team All-Pac-12 Conference honors as well as being recognized as a freshman All-American by USA Today. Throughout his college career, he continued to excel, starting all games at right tackle during his redshirt sophomore and junior seasons, receiving second-team All-Pac-12 honors each year. In 2021, Lucas started 12 games and was named first-team All-Pac-12, solidifying his reputation as a top offensive lineman.

Early Career (2022)

Abraham Lucas was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, being the 72nd overall pick. He signed his rookie contract on May 26, 2022, and was named the starting right tackle as a rookie, starting in 16 games during his first season. His performance was notable, as he was recognized for his blocking skills, particularly in pass protection.

Breakthrough (2023-Present)

In Week 1 of the 2023 season, Lucas suffered a knee injury and was placed on injured reserve. However, he was activated off of injured reserve on November 30 and appeared in six games that season.
