Early Life and Background
Aidan Robbins was born to Ron and Twylia Robbins in Louisville, Kentucky. Growing up, Robbins was involved in numerous activities including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, track and field, and even acting. He was the vice president of the student council in middle school. His football career began at age eight, and he started training for sports at nine years old, spending much of his upbringing at Corey Taylor Sports Performance. Initially, Robbins played on the offensive line during Pop Warner due to league weight limits but played virtually every position on the defensive side of the ball, including free safety. It was not until middle school that he was able to play running back. Robbins attended DuPont Manual High School in Louisville, where he was a three-year starter and rushed for over 2,000 yards while playing multiple positions. He also participated in basketball, track, and was a member of the Black Student Union. During his senior year, Robbins played in just four games, rushing for 319 yards and seven touchdowns before suffering a shoulder injury. Coming out of high school, he was rated as a highly touted three-star recruit and committed to play college football for the Louisville Cardinals, turning down offers from several other schools including Kentucky, Purdue, and South Carolina.
Path to American Football
Robbins began his college football career at the University of Louisville, where he played for the Cardinals in 2020 and 2021. During his time there, he rushed seven times for 51 yards and a touchdown. After the 2021 season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal and graduated with a degree in Business Marketing from Louisville in the spring of 2022, earning recognition as a two-time Academic All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree. Following his time at Louisville, Robbins transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to continue his college football career. In week three of the 2022 season, he rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns against North Texas, earning Mountain West Player of the Week honors and setting a new career high in rushing. In his lone season with UNLV, Robbins rushed for 1,011 yards and nine touchdowns, along with 23 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown. His performance gained him national exposure, and he was recognized as one of the best running backs in the nation, receiving accolades such as PFF All-Conference selection and Academic All-Mountain West Conference. He was also named the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year. After the 2022 season, Robbins entered the NCAA transfer portal again, where he was rated as the second-best running back available.
