Andre Cisco grew up in Valley Stream, New York, and attended St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, New York, before transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, prior to his junior season. Cisco’s college career began at Syracuse in 2018, where he made an immediate impact as a freshman, starting 11 of 13 games. He recorded 60 tackles and seven interceptions, which was tied for the most in the nation, earning him the title of Atlantic Coast Conference’s Defensive Rookie of the Year and a spot as a freshman All-American. Cisco became the first true freshman in Syracuse’s history to earn All-American honors. However, his college career faced a setback when he sustained a lower body injury in 2020, leading to a torn anterior cruciate ligament that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

Early Career (2021-2024)

Cisco declared for the NFL draft on October 13, 2020, after his injury. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round (65th overall) of the 2021 NFL draft, becoming the highest safety drafted from Syracuse since Tebucky Jones and Donavin Darius in 1998. Cisco signed a four-year contract with the Jaguars, worth $5.23 million, including an initial signing bonus of $1.16 million. Despite recovering from his ACL injury, he competed for a starting position during training camp and was named a backup safety to start the regular season.

Breakthrough (2021-2023)

Cisco made his professional debut on September 12, 2021, in the Jaguars’ season opener against the Houston Texans.
