His impressive performance earned him all-metro honors from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and helped Parkway Central reach the state playoff semifinals. Although initially committed to play college football for the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Green chose to pursue a junior college career with the Hutchinson Blue Dragons.

Green began his college career at Hutchinson Community College in 2018, where he appeared in eight games as a freshman, totaling 19 tackles and six interceptions. He continued to develop his skills in the following season, recording 13 tackles, two interceptions, and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in 2019. Ranked as a three-star junior college recruit, Green initially committed to play for the Tennessee Volunteers but ultimately decided to join the Houston Cougars. At Houston, he played in eight games during the 2020 season, recording 10 tackles. In the 2021 season, he played all 14 games, achieving 18 tackles and one interception. As a senior in 2022, Green started 11 games, accumulating 49 tackles, eight pass breakups, three tackles-for-loss, and two interceptions, earning second-team All-American Athletic Conference honors. He also played a key role in the team’s 2022 Independence Bowl victory, where he was named the defensive most valuable player after posting a career-high nine tackles.
