Early Life and Background
Byron Cowart was born on May 20, 1996, in Seffner, Florida, USA. He attended Armwood High School, where he gained recognition as a standout football player. His exceptional skills on the field earned him the distinction of being the top high school recruit in the nation, leading to his commitment to Auburn University in 2015.
During his time at Auburn, Cowart faced challenges in securing significant playing time during his first two seasons. He made his professional debut in the 2019 season, appearing in five games as a rookie. Cowart’s first career sack came during a game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14 of the 2020 season.
In 2021, Cowart faced challenges with injuries, leading to his placement on the reserve/physically unable to perform list at the start of the season. The Patriots waived him on July 22, 2022, marking the end of his tenure with the team.
