Early Life and Background

Craig Young attended Wayne High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. During his junior season, he made a significant impact on the field, recording 29 receptions for 367 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, he contributed with 27 tackles, one and a half sacks, and three interceptions. Young was rated as a three-star recruit coming out of high school and received offers from several prominent schools, including Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. Ultimately, he committed to play college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Path to American Football

At Ohio State, Craig Young played for two seasons from 2019 to 2021. In his first two years, he appeared in 14 games and recorded eight tackles. His performance peaked during the 2021 season when he played in 12 games, accumulating 15 tackles, half a sack, a pass deflection, an interception, and a touchdown. After the 2021 season, he decided to transfer to the University of Kansas to continue his college football career.

After going undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, Craig Young signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent. However, his time with the Colts was short-lived as he was waived on August 27, 2024.

Breakthrough (2024)

Following his release from the Colts, Young signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad on October 16, 2024. Unfortunately, he was released on November 5, 2024. On December 24, 2024, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract with the team on January 7, 2025.
