Dalton Smith was born in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Growing up in a region with a rich hockey culture, Smith was exposed to the sport at a young age. Smith’s dedication to hockey led him to join the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he played four seasons from 2008 to 2012.
