Holton Maddux Ahlers was born on November 10, 1999, in Greenville, North Carolina. He grew up in the same community where he would later become a football legend, attending D. H. Conley High School in Greenville. At D. H. Conley, Ahlers was a multi-sport athlete, playing football, baseball, and basketball while developing into one of the most decorated high school quarterbacks in North Carolina history.
As a four-year starter and team captain, Ahlers led the Vikings to four straight playoff appearances and three conference titles.
