Mikheyev started his hockey journey in the school of Avangard Omsk. In 2012, he began playing for the youth team Omskie Yastreby in the MHL. His performance in the MHL was notable, as he finished fifth in league scoring during the 2013 season and won the Kharlamov Cup with his team. He continued to develop his skills in the VHL, playing for teams like Yermak Angarsk and Sokol Krasnoyarsk, where he won the Nadezhda Cup.
