Indiana Denchev Vassilev is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer and the United States national team. Vassilev is a product of Aston Villa, having signed from the IMG Academy in Florida. Indiana Vassilev was born on February 16, 2001, in Savannah, Georgia, United States. He began his soccer journey at a young age, starting with Savannah United, where he played from 2005 to 2012. Following his time there, he joined the South Georgia Tormenta FC Academy from 2013 to 2015 before moving to the IMG Academy in Florida. His coach at IMG Academy, Kevin Hartman, recognized Vassilev’s leadership qualities and potential to play at a high level, which set the foundation for his future career.
