Jaelyn Brown (born October 12, 1998) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. She played college basketball for the California Golden Bears. Afterwards, she played overseas for teams in France, Sweden, Hungary, Turkey, Mexico, and Israel before making her debut in the Women’s National Basketball Association with the Dallas Wings in 2024.

Jaelyn Brown was born on October 12, 1998, in Murrieta, California. She faced health challenges at birth, being born with two club feet, but she was able to walk normally by the age of ten months. Brown began playing basketball at a young age and joined the U15 squad of the Cal Sparks club at age 13, helping the team reach the semifinals of the Fila Nationals tournament. She later moved up to the U17 team, contributing to a remarkable record of 44–1 and a national ranking of second. Brown attended Vista Murrieta High School, where she made an immediate impact on the varsity team, scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in her debut as a freshman. Over her high school career, she averaged 16.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, and received numerous accolades, including All-CIF Southern Section honors and being named the Press-Enterprise girls basketball player of the year for the 2015 season. Despite suffering a significant knee injury prior to her senior year, she committed to play college basketball for the California Golden Bears.

Jaelyn Brown began her college career at the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears from 2016 to 2020. After going undrafted in the 2020 WNBA Draft, Jaelyn Brown signed her first professional contract with Toulouse Métropole Basket in France’s Ligue 2 in August 2020. In her brief stint there, she averaged 7.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in four games before leaving the team in November 2020. Following a brief hiatus from basketball, she received an opportunity to play for the Norrköping Dolphins in Sweden’s top league in 2021. At Norrköping, Brown became a key player, averaging 13.4 points and 7.2 rebounds, helping her team secure a national championship. Her success in Sweden set the stage for her subsequent moves to other international teams, including Ludovika Csata in Hungary, where she averaged 16.7 points and 6.8 rebounds in her first season.
Breakthrough (2024)
Jaelyn Brown’s breakthrough came when she signed a training camp contract with the Dallas Wings of the WNBA on February 20, 2024. In her preseason debut against the Indiana Fever, she showcased her talent by scoring 21 points, tying for the game-high. She made the final roster for the Wings, marking her entry into the WNBA.
