Jalen Moreno-Cropper grew up in Parlier, California. He initially attended Sanger High School before transferring to Buchanan High School for his senior year. During his high school career, he was rated a four-star recruit and received offers from several Power 5 programs, including Utah, Nebraska, California, and Oregon, ultimately committing to play college football at Fresno State.

Moreno-Cropper began his college career at Fresno State, where he quickly made an impact. In his freshman season, he caught 15 passes for 196 yards and also rushed for 343 yards and three touchdowns. He was named second-team All-Mountain West Conference after a standout junior season, where he caught 85 passes for 899 yards and 11 touchdowns. In his senior year, he achieved first-team All-Mountain West honors, finishing with 84 receptions for 1,093 yards and five touchdowns.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, Jalen Moreno-Cropper signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. He was initially waived on August 29, 2023, but was re-signed to the practice squad shortly after. Moreno-Cropper signed a reserve/future contract with the Cowboys on January 15, 2024, indicating the team’s interest in developing him further.

Breakthrough (2024)

In 2024, Moreno-Cropper faced challenges as he was released during roster cuts on August 27 but quickly re-signed to the practice squad the following day.
