His efforts helped Central High School win its first state title since 1993. Initially, Cohen committed to play college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks but later changed his commitment to the Auburn Tigers before finally settling on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

At the University of Alabama, Cohen’s freshman season in 2020 saw him appear in five games, where he played a total of 28 snaps.
