Kaitlyn O’Donohoe Bio
Kaitlyn O’Donohoe (born September 20, 2001) is an American professional ice hockey forward serving as a reserve player for the Minnesota Frost of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). She previously played for Brynäs IF in the Swedish Women’s Hockey League (SDHL), and her college ice hockey career was played with the Colgate Raiders women’s ice hockey program.
Early Life and Background
Kaitlyn O’Donohoe was born in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. She has also been associated with Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which have been referred to as her hometowns. O’Donohoe attended Choate Rosemary Hall for her secondary education, where she was active in multiple sports, including ice hockey, field hockey, and softball. This early exposure to sports laid the foundation for her future career in ice hockey.
Path to Hockey
O’Donohoe played five seasons of college ice hockey with the Colgate Raiders in the ECAC Hockey conference of NCAA Division I. During her time with the Raiders, she participated in 179 games, scoring 126 points, which included 54 goals and 72 assists. This impressive performance ranks her seventh all-time in scoring for the Raiders and she played the second-most games in the program’s history. Her dedication and skill during her college years helped her to earn significant accolades, including winning the ECAC Hockey regular season title in both 2021 and 2024, and the conference championship in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Early Career (2024)
Following her successful college career, Kaitlyn O’Donohoe transitioned to professional hockey by signing with Brynäs IF ahead of the 2024–25 SDHL season. In her debut professional season, she played fourteen games, scoring seven points with two goals and five assists. This marked the beginning of her professional journey in ice hockey.
Breakthrough (2024)
O’Donohoe’s breakthrough came when she left Brynäs IF in November 2024 to attend the Minnesota Frost’s training camp. She ultimately signed with the team as a reserve player for the 2024–25 PWHL season. Following an injury to Frost forward Dominique Petrie, O’Donohoe was signed to a standard player contract on December 28, 2024, solidifying her position on the team. After pre-season training camp, she signed again as a reserve player for the Frost prior to the 2025–26 season.
