He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, winning two national championships before being selected by the Texans in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft.

Kamari Lassiter was born in Savannah, Georgia, on January 23, 2003. He began playing football at the age of three and attended American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. During his time in high school, he excelled as a multi-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, baseball, and track. Lassiter recorded impressive statistics, including 210 tackles, ten interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Additionally, he played as a wide receiver, accumulating 2,488 yards and 35 touchdowns. As a four-star recruit, he chose to play college football at the University of Georgia over offers from Auburn, Clemson, and Georgia Tech.

At the University of Georgia, Kamari Lassiter’s career began as a true freshman in 2021, where he played in all 15 games, recording 11 tackles and one interception. His role expanded in the 2022 season following the departure of a key player, Derion Kendrick. In the season opener against Oregon, Lassiter made his first career start, achieving three tackles. He continued to improve throughout the season, finishing with a total of 38 tackles, including three in the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship Game against TCU.
