Matthew Miazga Bio
Matthew Miazga (born July 19, 1995) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a center-back for Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati. Having come through the academy system of the New York Red Bulls, Miazga made his debut in the 2013 Major League Soccer season, and won two MLS Supporters’ Shields with the team. He would go on to win his third Shield with Cincinnati in 2023.

Matthew Miazga was born in Clifton, New Jersey, where he attended Clifton High School for one year before joining the New York Red Bulls Academy in 2009 at the under-14 level. While with the under-16 side, Miazga helped the Red Bulls win the U.S. Soccer Development Academy National Championship in 2012. In 2013, he signed a letter of intent to play for the Michigan Wolverines men’s soccer program. However, after receiving offers from Europe and the New York Red Bulls, Miazga chose to pursue a professional career instead of attending college. Miazga’s early exposure to soccer and his family’s support played a crucial role in his development as a player.
