In 2013, he signed a letter of intent to play for the Michigan Wolverines men’s soccer program. However, after receiving offers from Europe and the New York Red Bulls, Miazga chose to pursue a professional career instead of attending college. Miazga’s early exposure to soccer and his family’s support played a crucial role in his development as a player. His parents, Adam and Elżbieta, are Polish immigrants who instilled in him a strong work ethic and a passion for the sport. This foundation helped him navigate the competitive landscape of youth soccer and ultimately led to his professional debut.

He made his first-team debut at age 18 as a substitute in a match against the Houston Dynamo on September 8, 2013. During the 2014 season, Miazga began to play more frequently, and by 2015, he had established himself as a starter, forming a strong partnership in defense. His performances earned him recognition as one of the best defensive players in Major League Soccer. After strong showings against notable players, Miazga was offered a designated player deal by the Red Bulls, but he declined, expressing a desire to play in Europe.
