Michael Keith Davis II is an American professional football cornerback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the BYU Cougars and signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Davis has also played for the Washington Commanders.
Early Life and Background
Michael Davis was born on January 6, 1995, in Glendale, California. He has an African American father and a Mexican mother, and he was raised Catholic by his mother. During his time at Glendale High School, Davis participated in both football and track and field. He earned first-team All-CIF, league, and area honors in his senior year. In track and field, he won the Pacific League title in the 100-meter sprint for three consecutive years and the 200-meter sprint for four straight years. His best times in the 100 and 200-meter dashes were 10.5 seconds and 21.3 seconds, respectively. Davis qualified for the California State Championship Meet for the 200-meter event during his junior and senior years, finishing seventh overall in 2012 and fifth overall in 2013.

After high school, Michael Davis attended Brigham Young University (BYU) from 2013 to 2016. During his college career, he totaled 110 tackles and 17 pass break-ups over four seasons. Although he lost his starting position for a time during his senior season, he made a significant impact by coming off the bench to secure an interception and a 40-yard return against Michigan State, contributing to a 31–14 upset victory for the Cougars.
