Early Life and Background

Paul Moala attended high school at Penn in Mishawaka, Indiana. Coming out of high school, he was rated as a three-star recruit and was the 20th overall prospect in the state of Indiana. Moala held offers from several schools, including Notre Dame, Iowa, Hawaii, Air Force, and Utah State. Ultimately, he decided to commit to play college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Path to American Football

Moala began his college career at Notre Dame, where he played during the 2018 season, participating in seven games and making one tackle. In week 13 of the 2019 season, he made a significant impact by returning a fumble 27 yards for a touchdown in a win over Navy. That season, he totaled 14 tackles, with one being for a loss, and also recorded a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. Unfortunately, injuries plagued his later seasons, as he tore his Achilles in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons, limiting his playing time.

Early Career (2018-2021)

After his time at Notre Dame, Moala transferred to the University of Idaho. During the 2022 season with the Idaho Vandals, he had a breakout year, totaling 61 tackles, with seven for a loss, five pass deflections, four interceptions, and a forced fumble. His performance earned him recognition and led him to enter the NCAA transfer portal once again after the season. Moala then transferred to Georgia Tech for his final college season, where he recorded 65 tackles, 11 for a loss, four sacks, two pass deflections, and three forced fumbles.

Breakthrough (2024-Present)

After declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft, Paul Moala went undrafted but quickly signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent. However, he was waived on August 26, 2024. Subsequently, on April 28, 2025, he signed with the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League, marking a new chapter in his professional career.
