Quinton Bell is an American professional football linebacker for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on May 9, 1996, in Long Beach, California. After attending Costa Mesa High School, where he excelled in multiple sports, he went on to play college football for the Prairie View A&M Panthers from 2015 to 2018. Bell was drafted in the seventh round by the Oakland Raiders in 2019, making history as the first NFL draft pick from Prairie View since 1980. He has since played for several teams including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons before joining the Dolphins.
Early Life and Background
Quinton Bell was born and raised in Long Beach, California. He attended Costa Mesa High School, where he was a three-sport athlete. Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds, Bell participated in basketball and track and field during his time at Costa Mesa. In track and field, he won the Orange Coast League Championship in the 100-meter event and set a league record in the 4 x 100 relay. In football, he played as a wide receiver and outside linebacker for the Costa Mesa Mustangs. During the 2013 season, Bell earned multiple honors including 1st Team All-Area and All-County. He graduated in 2014 and accepted a collegiate sports offer from Prairie View A&M University.

Quinton Bell was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, being the 230th overall pick. He was initially waived on August 31, 2019, but was re-signed to the practice squad shortly after. Unfortunately, he was released on October 15, 2019. Later, on November 5, 2019, he was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract with them on December 30, 2019. However, he faced challenges with the Buccaneers, being waived and re-signed multiple times during his tenure with the team.
Breakthrough (2021-2023)
In September 2021, Quinton Bell signed with the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad. He made the Falcons’ roster in 2022, playing in three games before being waived on November 5, 2022. After a brief stint, he was re-signed to the practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract on January 9, 2023. Bell was waived again in April 2023 and subsequently signed by the Philadelphia Eagles on August 19, 2023. However, he was released as part of the final roster cuts on August 29, 2023. On October 17, 2023, he was signed to the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad and later signed a reserve/future contract with them on January 15, 2024.
