Ryan began playing soccer at four years old and played club soccer for the ECNL team Colorado Rush. She attended Cherry Creek High School, where she won the 5A state championship as a sophomore in 2012. As a four-year letterwinner coming out of high school, she was ranked 16th regionally by TopDrawerSoccer.

During her time at Cherry Creek High School, Ryan Williams developed her skills and passion for soccer, which led her to play for the TCU Horned Frogs from 2014 to 2017.
