Samantha Grace Coffey (born December 31, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defensive midfielder for Women’s Super League club Manchester City and the United States women’s national team. She captained the Portland Thorns of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and won the 2022 NWSL Championship during her rookie season. Coffey is a three-time NWSL Best XI First Team selection and an Olympic gold medalist with the United States at the 2024 Paris Games.
Before turning professional, Coffey built one of the most decorated résumés in recent NCAA Division I women’s soccer history at Boston College and Penn State, finishing her college career with 42 goals and 54 assists in 102 appearances.
