Surridge returned to the AFC Bournemouth academy when he joined the under-15s and was soon offered a scholarship. In August 2021, Surridge joined Stoke City on a four-year contract. He scored the winning goal on his debut but struggled to maintain form, leading to his departure from the club in January 2022. Shortly thereafter, he signed with Nottingham Forest for a reported fee of £2.2 million. Surridge made an immediate impact, scoring his first goal for the club in a 2–1 victory over Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup. His contributions helped Nottingham Forest achieve promotion to the Premier League.
