Early Life and Background

Stefan Noesen grew up in the Dallas suburbs, where he was introduced to ice hockey at a young age. One of his childhood teammates was Blake Coleman, who would later become his teammate on the New Jersey Devils. At the age of 14, Noesen moved north to pursue his hockey career more seriously, eventually playing major junior ice hockey with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). His dedication and skill on the ice led to his selection in the 2011 NHL Draft.

Path to Hockey

Noesen was drafted by the Ottawa Senators with the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NHL Draft, a selection that was made possible through a trade with the Nashville Predators. He signed an entry-level contract with the Senators on December 29, 2011. In 2013, he was invited to the Senators’ training camp but was returned to junior hockey after failing to make the team. His journey through the ranks of junior hockey and his early experiences laid the groundwork for his future in the NHL.
