Thomas Hennessy is an American professional football long snapper for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He was born on June 11, 1994, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Hennessy played college football for the Duke Blue Devils from 2013 to 2016, where he developed his skills as a long snapper. After going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts but was shortly thereafter traded to the New York Jets. Known for his reliability on the field, Hennessy has played an essential role in the Jets’ special teams unit and earned a contract extension in 2019 and again in 2023.

Thomas Hennessy grew up in Bardonia, New York. He attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey, where he played high school football and was a three-year letterman. During his time at Don Bosco, he helped the team achieve a remarkable three-year record of 35–0, contributing to three state championships and earning national recognition as champions by USA Today in 2009 and 2011.
