Thomas Hennessy grew up in Bardonia, New York. He attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey, where he played high school football and was a three-year letterman. During his time at Don Bosco, he helped the team achieve a remarkable three-year record of 35–0, contributing to three state championships and earning national recognition as champions by USA Today in 2009 and 2011.
