Kurtrell “Trey” Benson is an American professional football running back for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Early Life and Background

Trey Benson was born on July 23, 2002, in Greenville, Mississippi. He attended O’Bannon High School before transferring to St. Joseph Catholic High School. During his final two seasons, he accumulated an impressive total of 3,616 rushing yards and scored 48 touchdowns. His outstanding performance in high school led him to commit to the University of Oregon to pursue a career in college football.

Path to American Football

Benson began his college football journey at the University of Oregon, where he played in 2020 and 2021. Unfortunately, he missed the entire 2020 season due to a torn ACL. In 2021, he made his return, recording six carries for 22 yards and a touchdown. After the season, he transferred to Florida State University, where he initially shared playing time with teammates Lawrance Toafili and Treshaun Ward. However, he eventually emerged as the lead running back for the Seminoles, further solidifying his reputation as a talented player.

Benson made his NFL debut in Week 1 of the 2024 season, where he rushed for 13 yards on three attempts and recorded one reception for five yards. His performance continued to improve, and in Week 10, he rushed for 62 yards on 10 carries and had two receptions for 25 yards in a victory against the New York Jets.
