Trystan Colon was born in Webb City, Missouri, to Heriberto Eddie Colon and Neysa Rosaria Colon. His mother moved from Puerto Rico to attend college at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, and his father followed shortly after. Tragically, his father passed away in a motor vehicle accident when Trystan was just one year old. Growing up, Colon was a three-year varsity football player for the Webb City High School Cardinals, contributing to two Class 4 state championship teams and one runner-up team, achieving an impressive overall record of 43–2, including a perfect 15–0 season in 2014. In addition to football, he also played basketball during his high school years.

Path to American Football

After high school, Trystan Colon continued his football journey at the University of Missouri. He earned the team’s Lifter of the Year award following his redshirt season. His performance as a true freshman was noteworthy, as he started 13 games and earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference coaches’ All-Freshman squad. He also received the Team Underclassmen Leadership Award. Over his college career, he started all 25 games for the Tigers in 2018 and 2019, although the team was ineligible for bowl games due to NCAA sanctions.

Trystan Colon entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent after not being selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens, where he faced challenges but ultimately made his mark. Colon was elevated to the active roster for the Ravens’ week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals on October 10, 2020, and made his first career start against the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 2, 2020. Over three seasons with the Ravens, he played a total of 20 games.

In 2023, Colon signed with the New York Jets but was waived later that year.
