Joey Wentz is an American professional baseball pitcher currently with the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball. Selected 40th overall by the Braves in the 2016 MLB draft out of Shawnee Mission East High School, the left-hander was later traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2019 and made his MLB debut on May 11, 2022, against Oakland. He has pitched at the major league level for the Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota Twins, and Braves, moving between starting and relief roles. Wentz set a Braves franchise record with six strikeouts in a relief debut on July 12, 2025. A torn ACL diagnosed in March 2026 will sideline him for the full season.
