Wagner envisions this project as an agent for future developments aimed for promoting community connectivity. “What I’m hoping is that this project leads into many others, showing off how we can get from park to place to path to sidewalks, and integrating everything so you feel like you’re in a community,” he explained.

The new pickleball courts will be situated off Indian Bayou Trail near the dog park. The city plans to break ground within the next few months, targeting early 2025 for the project’s completion. This initiative underlines Destin’s commitment to expanding recreational opportunities and promoting a sense of community.
