Bardmoor Betterball Pickleball Tournament Promises Thrills and Charitable Giving

The Bardmoor Pickleball Club in Seminole, Florida, is gearing up for the highly anticipated second annual Bardmoor Betterball pickleball tournament, set to take place from November 14 to November 17, 2024. Expanding upon last year’s success, the tournament will feature more days and divisions, promising participants an exciting experience while contributing to a charitable cause. This year’s event will also integrate DUPR registration, ensuring competitive integrity among players.

Event Structure and New Divisions

The pickleball tournament will follow a round-robin format, where the top four teams from each division will advance to a single-elimination playoff. New divisions have been added for this year, including 50+ and 60+ categories for men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles.

Additionally, junior divisions will allow young players the chance to show their talent, potentially marking the debut of future stars in the sport.

Participants will compete in limited fields of 10 teams per division, with matches designed to engage and challenge players. Round-robin games will be played to 11 points, requiring a two-point margin for victory, while playoff games will increase to a goal of 15 points, also with a two-point advantage.

Community Focus and Charitable Donations

In a spirit of giving, all participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support local families in need during the Thanksgiving season. This year’s goal is to provide nourishing meals for 200 families, showing the tournament’s commitment to community welfare.

Bardmoor members will face bounties on their teams in the elimination rounds, adding a competitive edge and camaraderie among club members.

The tournament will feature the Dwell 40 ball, with hydration and snacks provided for players as part of their registration. A food truck will also be on-site, offering additional food options for purchase throughout the event.

Additional Activities and Raffle Opportunities

The Bardmoor Betterball pickleball tournament will not only be about competitive play; it will also include a variety of fun extras for participants and spectators. Local businesses have contributed to a raffle, providing baskets filled with exciting prizes.

Additionally, a 50/50 raffle will give attendees the chance to win cash prizes, while a Calcutta event will offer participants an opportunity to engage in the excitement of team betting, with payouts to shareholders based on team performance.

Registration and Refund Policies

The registration fee for the Bardmoor Betterball pickleball tournament is set at $60, which covers one event and guarantees a minimum of four games. Participants wishing to withdraw must do so by October 25, 2024, to avoid penalties, as any cancellations after that date will not be refunded.

In the event of weather-related cancellations prior to the tournament, a credit will be issued for registration fees minus any processing costs. However, no refunds will be provided for cancellations after the tournament has commenced.
