India Welcomes Pickleball Giants for PWR India Masters

India Welcomes Pickleball Giants: International pickleball players are set to make their mark in India as the PWR DUPR India Masters kicks off in New Delhi. Organized by Pickleball World Rankings (PWR), the unified global ranking system for pickleball, the tournament marks a major milestone for the sport in India.

This highly anticipated event will take place from October 24-27, 2024, at the prestigious RK Khanna Tennis Stadium. Notably, this is the first fully owned and operated tournament by PWR, following the successful launch of the PWR World Tour in Dubai, UAE, in July 2024.

A Diverse Pool of Competitors

With a roster of 750 participants, the PWR DUPR India Masters will feature both professional and amateur players from around the globe. Among the international competitors are renowned athletes like Dustin Boyer and Phuc Huynh from the United States, Roos Van Reek from the Netherlands, Mitch Hargreaves and Emilia Schmidt from Australia, and Pei Chuan Kao from Chinese Taipei. Indian stars such as Armaan Bhatia and Aditya Ruhela will also take to the court, aiming to make a statement in front of their home crowd.

Pickleball is now the fastest-growing sport in India,” said Vineet Jain, managing director of The Times Group. Jain believes that this tournament will further boost both player and fan engagement, encouraging more athletes to consider pickleball as a full-time career. His enthusiasm reflects the sport’s growing popularity and its potential to develop a strong base in India.

The tournament will offer players the opportunity to compete for a prize pool of $50,000, underscoring PWR’s commitment to advancing pickleball on a global stage.
