Kaulig Racing revealed on February 21 that Colin Braun will drive the No. 25 Kaulig RAM truck at the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on February 28 at the St. Petersburg street circuit. Braun, a 24-time IMSA winner and former NASCAR Truck Series victor, will be stepping into this role following his recent competition at the same venue in the IndyCar Series.
Colin Braun’s Racing Background and Previous St. Petersburg Experience
Braun has an accomplished racing career that includes one NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win in 2009 at Michigan International Speedway, where he finished fifth in the championship driving the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing truck. More recently, he competed at St. Petersburg in his only 2024 NTT IndyCar Series start for Dale Coyne Racing, finishing 20th.
Rotation of Drivers in Kaulig’s No. 25 Truck Early in the Season
This marks the third driver to pilot the No. 25 truck in the opening three races of the 2026 Truck Series season. Tony Stewart drove the truck at Daytona International Speedway but crashed out, placing 36th. Ty Dillon was behind the wheel at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta earlier this week. The upcoming race in St. Petersburg will be the first NASCAR national series event held on its street circuit.
The Importance of the St. Petersburg Race in NASCAR’s Schedule
The introduction of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series to the St. Petersburg street course adds a fresh venue to the national racing calendar, potentially influencing team strategies and driver performance in future street circuit events. Colin Braun’s involvement brings additional interest, linking NASCAR with drivers who compete across multiple racing disciplines.
