Arrow McLaren Racing Center Officially Opens in Indy

Arrow McLaren Racing has officially opened its new headquarters located at 7615 Zionsville Road in Indianapolis. The NTT IndyCar Series team revealed the updated McLaren Racing Center on Wednesday, marking a significant step in its expansion efforts. The building, previously housing Andretti Global’s IndyCar operations, was purchased by Arrow McLaren in June 2025 to serve as their new base.

Extensive Renovations and Significantly Larger Facility

The McLaren Racing Center went through a major expansion and renovation, increasing its size to approximately 86,000 square feet. This is a substantial upgrade compared to Arrow McLaren’s former facility on Coffman Road, which was just 33,000 square feet. The expanded space is intended to better accommodate the team’s growing workforce and activities.

“They got a lot of work done in six months,”

said Arrow McLaren driver Pato O’Ward.

“We got the keys to it in the summer of ’25, and we’re moving in January ’26. So, seeing how remodeling can take a lot of time, I’m actually shocked that it actually looks like this so quickly. And it’s so well done. I’m proud of everybody. I’m proud of the team.”

Arrow McLaren Team Principal and 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan highlighted the benefits of the new environment, noting the positive impact on team morale and performance.

“A facility is good for an environment, it’s good for people’s morale,”

Kanaan said.

“We came from a very small place just because that’s what we had.”

Facility Designed to Support Team, Partners, and Visitors

The center is more than just a workspace; it is positioned as a hub for interaction with McLaren Racing’s partner network. The facility will offer a setting suitable for meetings, conferences, and various events, encouraging collaboration and engagement.

“It’s a place that you want to bring your friends here and show it off,”

O’Ward added.

“You want to bring your family. You want to bring your cousins or whoever it is that might be in town for the Indy 500.”

This open and welcoming atmosphere reflects the team’s growth and ambition, with more than 120 employees currently part of Arrow McLaren, underscoring its expanding presence within the motorsports industry.

Significance as McLaren Racing’s North American Base

The McLaren Racing Center has been designated as the North American headquarters for McLaren Racing. This strategic move underlines the team’s long-term commitment to the IndyCar Series and its intent to establish a strong foothold in the U.S. motorsport scene.

“I think it’s to send a message that we’re here,”

McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown stated.

“We want to win. And we’re here for the long term. You don’t make an investment like this if you’re not going to intend to be in IndyCar for a long time.”

Modern Upgrades and Amenities Enhance the Facility

The recent renovation introduced several key features to the McLaren Racing Center, enhancing both functionality and comfort. These include an expanded lobby area, the addition of a second-floor mezzanine to increase accessible workspace, and a state-of-the-art fitness and recovery center designed to help drivers and staff maintain peak performance. The installation of a new elevator improves overall accessibility throughout the facility.

Team Preview and Facility Tour Ahead of Upcoming Season

In the lead-up to the launch of this facility, in November, Arrow McLaren driver Christian Lundgaard provided an exclusive tour of the McLaren Racing Center during its construction phase to News 8 Sports reporter Andrew Chernoff. This glimpse behind the scenes highlighted the transformation taking place as the team prepared for the new season.

Arrow McLaren is set to compete in the next IndyCar season fielding three full-time drivers: Christian Lundgaard, Pato O’Ward, and Nolan Siegel. The new space is expected to support their competitive efforts with improved resources and a stronger organizational foundation.

Growing Team Reflects Long-Term Ambitions

The growth of the McLaren Racing Center correlates with the expansion of Arrow McLaren itself, which now employs over 120 individuals across various departments. This increase signifies not only greater investment in team operations but also a clear intention to become a lasting force in IndyCar racing.

“I think this place really shows that McLaren is here and is here to stay,”

O’Ward said.

“So, I’m proud to be a papaya member.”

Strategic Importance of the New Facility for Arrow McLaren

The establishment of this new headquarters represents a decisive chapter for both Arrow McLaren and McLaren Racing. By transforming the former Andretti Global building into a cutting-edge center, the organization is poised to enhance both its competitive edge and community presence within Indianapolis and beyond. The modern amenities and increased footprint offer substantial support to drivers, staff, and partners, aligning with the team’s determined and hopeful outlook heading into future seasons.
