Olivia Dunne, girlfriend of Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, has made headlines again following her retirement from gymnastics last year. The former LSU gymnast appears on the cover of the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, marking her third consecutive feature in the magazine after previous appearances in 2023 and 2024. Dunne was showcased alongside Lauren Chan, Salma Hayek, and fellow gymnast Jordan Chiles.
Sharing Her Excitement and Inspiration
Dunne recently shared a photo from her gym session on TikTok with the caption, “Been waiting on the sunshine.” In the same post, she revealed her pride in appearing on the SI cover, writing,
“Boy I think I need that back.”
She described this achievement as a dream come true and expressed her hope that her story encourages other athletes to pursue their goals and stand up for what is right.
“I am proud to be an SI [Swimsuit] model,” she continued. “Thank you so much for making my dreams come true. I just hope that other athletes feel inspired and hear my story, and fight for what’s right.”
Expanding Her Modeling Career
In addition to gracing the Sports Illustrated cover, Dunne was recently announced as the winter 2025 cover star for Maxim magazine. She shared the news by posting the cover image on her Instagram page, further cementing her transition from gymnastics to modeling and inspiring many through her journey.
