Gunnar Henderson’s Wife Reacts to Ryan O’Hearn’s New Dad Life

Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star Ryan O’Hearn recently celebrated a major milestone when his wife, Hannah, gave birth to their first child, daughter Harper, in December. The couple, both new parents, shared the joyful moment on social media, marking the start of this new chapter in their lives together.

Hannah commemorated their growing family with an Instagram carousel post showing tender moments with little Harper, captioning it,

“Exactly how I pictured it in my dreams.”

Katherine, the wife of Ryan’s former Baltimore Orioles teammate Gunnar Henderson, chimed in on the post, expressing her support with a simple comment, “Love these.”

The Couple’s Journey: From Instagram to Parenthood

Ryan and Hannah’s relationship began on Instagram, leading to a proposal in 2022 and their wedding in February 2024. Shortly after Harper’s birth, Hannah shared the happy news on Instagram, writing,

“A new year, a new life, a new love. Harper Tate O’Hearn, 12.28.25, 6lb 10oz. Our hearts have been never so full.”

To mark Harper’s one-month milestone, Hannah posted another tribute, calling her daughter “my snow Angel.”

Ryan O’Hearn’s Baseball Career and Recent Moves

Before joining the Pirates, O’Hearn played two seasons with the Orioles and spent the latter half of 2025 with the San Diego Padres after a midseason trade. Last month, he finalized a two-year, $29 million contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates, signaling a new phase in his career.

Hannah Celebrates Life in Pittsburgh with Her Husband

In response to Ryan’s Pirates signing, Hannah posted a cheerful photo of them—Ryan in his Pirates jersey and herself in a black tracksuit—with the caption,

“It’s a pirate’s life for me.”

Ryan made an immediate impact during his Grapefruit League debut against his former team, the Orioles, hitting a three-run homer in his first game for Pittsburgh. Reflecting on the experience, he said,

“It’s so early, I’m just trying to see the ball and have good at-bats and put it in play. First and third there with [no outs], I’m just trying to get something in the air. I’ve played at Ed Smith plenty of times and know that if you get the ball in the air to left field, it’s got a shot. Cool to hit a homer, for sure.”

The Pirates’ Outlook with O’Hearn on Board

Despite Pittsburgh’s struggles in recent seasons, Ryan remains optimistic about the team’s potential. He described the team’s attitude as one of “quiet confidence” and expressed his belief that they are

“gonna come out and surprise some people.”
