Cleetus McFarland’s anticipated debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Daytona International Speedway is dependent on clearance following a critical test at Rockingham Speedway next week. The well-known YouTuber and racing enthusiast must receive NASCAR’s approval before competing in the season-opening Fresh From Florida 250 on February 13.
Niece Motorsports confirmed McFarland’s entry alongside seasoned driver Travis Pastrana, highlighting the excitement around the crossover of an online racing personality into professional motorsports. McFarland has steadily grown his reputation through his automotive content and grassroots racing, making his NASCAR debut last year in the ARCA Menards Series.
During the previous season, the 30-year-old driver participated in races at Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, and Bristol, with his highest finish being a ninth place at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway. For his upcoming Truck Series race, McFarland will pilot the No. 4 Chevrolet Silverado, supported by sponsors Black Rifle Coffee Company and Brunt Workwear.
“I’m pumped to get back on track at Daytona. I’ve been lucky to drive a lot of really cool stuff, but Daytona in a NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck is a whole new level. This is my first time in the series, so I know it’s going to push me way outside my comfort zone, and that’s what makes it so exciting. I’m incredibly grateful to have partners like Black Rifle Coffee Company, BRUNT and Niece Motorsports backing us every step of the way,” Cleetus McFarland said in a team release.
If McFarland impresses during the Rockingham test and earns NASCAR’s approval, he will join fellow debutant Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who is also set to drive for Niece Motorsports. Additionally, Tony Stewart, a former NASCAR Cup champion, plans to make a notable comeback with Kaulig Racing and RAM, marking an exciting season start for returning and new drivers alike.
McFarland’s 2026 ARCA Season Set for Four Races
Alongside the Truck Series plans, Cleetus McFarland has outlined a part-time schedule in the ARCA Menards Series for 2026, focusing on superspeedways and intermediate tracks. Building on his four ARCA starts in 2025, McFarland will again race in four events, driving the No. 30 Ford Mustang for Rette Jones Racing.
The season will kick off at Daytona International Speedway on February 14, followed by races at Kansas Speedway on April 18, Talladega Superspeedway on April 25, and Michigan International Speedway on June 5. These tracks offer McFarland opportunities to continue developing his skills on some of the sport’s most challenging circuits.
In a heartfelt gesture, the Bradenton, Florida native will pay tribute to the late NASCAR Cup driver and close friend Greg Biffle by featuring “Be Like Biff” on the back of his car throughout the ARCA season. Biffle, who passed away in a plane crash in December 2025, had played a significant role in supporting McFarland’s ARCA debut last year.
What This Means for McFarland’s Racing Journey
Cleetus McFarland’s rise from online racing enthusiast to competitor in NASCAR’s Truck Series demonstrates the evolving pathways into professional motorsports. His upcoming test at Rockingham Speedway will be a critical moment, determining whether he can translate his grassroots success to the national stage at Daytona.
With sponsorship backing and entry alongside notable drivers like Travis Pastrana, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Tony Stewart’s return, McFarland’s participation promises to draw attention from both traditional racing fans and a younger, digital audience. His continued involvement in ARCA also indicates a measured and strategic approach to climbing NASCAR’s ranks.
Should McFarland gain approval after his test, his debut at the Fresh From Florida 250 will mark a significant milestone, sparking excitement around fresh talent entering NASCAR amidst a field of experienced racers. Fans and observers will closely watch his performance, as it could set the stage for more crossover drivers emerging from new media platforms into established racing circuits.
