23XI Racing Fast-Tracks Corey Heim for 2026 Cup Crown Jewels

Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing is advancing Corey Heim’s career by offering the reigning Truck Series champion a 12-race schedule in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series. Heim will compete at some of the sport’s most prestigious events, including NASCAR’s four crown jewel races, providing valuable experience as he prepares for a full-time Cup ride.

Heim, who is 23XI Racing’s first development driver, is set to make a notable appearance at the Daytona 500 on February 15. However, he must secure one of four Open entry spots by qualifying through the preliminary races to participate. If successful, Heim will drive the No. 67 car, supported by veteran crew chief Bootie Barker.

Targeted Schedule Focused on NASCAR’s Most Prestigious Races

The arrangement goes beyond quantity, with Heim selected to run all four of NASCAR’s crown jewel races: the Daytona 500, the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis, and the Southern 500 at Darlington. This lineup is designed to expose him to high-pressure racing environments and championship-level competition early in his Cup career.

We know the future is really bright for Corey, and we’re working with him to ensure that he is as prepared as possible when his time comes to race full time,

said Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing alongside Michael Jordan.

We’re continuing to stick to our plan and taking a long-term approach, while also remaining focused on what is collectively best for our organization and our partners.

Beyond these flagship events, Heim’s 2026 schedule also features a variety of track types, including superspeedways, traditional ovals, and the historic street course race in San Diego slated for June 21. Additional races at Kansas, Texas, Nashville, Chicagoland, and HomesteadMiami will build his versatility and racing acumen.

Established Partnerships and Varied Competition Opportunities Ahead

Heim’s relationship with Bootie Barker, an experienced crew chief who has led Bubba Wallace to two Cup victories, strengthens his prospects. Barker’s prior work with Heim in four earlier Cup events creates a trusted team dynamic that could prove advantageous in 2026.

Notably, Heim’s 2026 campaign will not include a full-time national series effort. Instead, he plans to split time among different teams and levels. He is confirmed for at least one Truck Series race with Tricon Garage, while 23XI Racing remains open to adding further Cup or Truck appearances as opportunities arise.

Strategic Development Reflects 23XI Racing’s Commitment to Future Talent

23XI Racing’s investment in Heim reflects a broader strategy of cultivating emerging drivers within their organization. While teammates Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick continue to compete for wins, the team is clearly focused on preparing the next generation of talent.

With Michael Jordan’s competitive drive and Denny Hamlin’s experience guiding the team, Heim benefits from strong leadership as he pursues his Cup Series ambitions. This carefully structured 2026 schedule aims to provide him with the exposure, experience, and mentorship necessary to succeed at NASCAR’s highest level.
