Kyle Larson has agreed to remain with Hendrick Motorsports through the 2031 NASCAR Cup Series season, the team announced on February 11. This extension ensures Larson will continue driving the No. 5 car for many more years, reinforcing his position within the organization as a key competitor.
Larson Expresses Gratitude and Optimism for the Future
Reflecting on the agreement, Larson shared his appreciation for the opportunity:
“I’m incredibly grateful to continue my career with Hendrick Motorsports and HendrickCars.com,”
he said.
“This team, this organization and this family have given me everything I need to compete at the highest level. We’ve accomplished a lot together, but I truly believe the best is still ahead. I’m grateful to Mr. Hendrick and JB for believing in me, and I’m excited to keep chasing wins and championships with Cliff and the 5 team for many more years.”
Strong Results Fuel Confidence in the Partnership
Larson’s recent performance solidifies the rationale behind the extension. During his 2025 championship campaign, he earned three victories, secured 15 top-five finishes, and achieved 22 top-ten placements. These consistent results highlight his growing dominance in the NASCAR Cup Series and his value to Hendrick Motorsports.
HendrickCars.com Extends Sponsorship Alongside Larson’s Deal
In addition to Larson’s contract, HendrickCars.com also renewed its commitment as the primary sponsor of the No. 5 car for the same duration. Jeffrey “JB” Brown, president of Hendrick Automotive Group, praised the collaboration:
“We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership with our teammates at Hendrick Motorsports,”
Brown stated.
“Since 2021, the program has consistently delivered a nearly three-to-one return with record-breaking traffic to HendrickCars.com, over $80 million in television exposure and tens of millions of social media engagements. As we enter our company’s 50th anniversary year, racing has driven results and united our teammates in such a powerful way that extending our relationship with Kyle, Cliff, and this championship team was a no-brainer.”
Crew Chief Cliff Daniels Also Secures New Contract
Crew chief Cliff Daniels has signed a multi-year contract extension to continue leading the No. 5 team, though the exact length of this deal was not disclosed. His leadership has been integral to the team’s success alongside Larson.
Long-Term Commitment Aims to Sustain Championship Momentum
The multi-year agreements with Larson, HendrickCars.com, and Daniels underscore Hendrick Motorsports’ confidence in their championship team’s potential. This stable foundation is expected to foster continued competitive performance and pursuit of NASCAR titles in the coming decade.
