Keselowski explained that a collision impacted LaJoie’s car, leading to frustrating consequences for the team’s strategy.
“We did everything we said we were going to do. Got all four cars to the front. Ran a pretty good pit cycle. All hell broke loose. Things kind of got separated. Ryan Preece got shuffled. Couldn’t keep the bottom lane super tight the way I wanted to. There was a wreck down the backstretch. That got the 17 car,”
Keselowski said.
“At the end I’m not really sure what happened. Somebody got in the back of Corey. Just really disappointing. We were in a spot to get him in the race. To go from having four cars in control of the race to three of ’em torn up and only one of ’em in the top five is quintessential Daytona.”
Keselowski Reflects on Racing with a Recent Injury
Competing less than two months after breaking his leg, Keselowski shared his feelings about being in the car versus moving around the track. He credited the design of the car seats for providing some relief and comfort during the intense race.
“Yeah, being in the car feels great. Walking to and from the car, not so much. The seats in these cars mold to the body, which helps. The seat is my home, you know? It feels good,”
