The Southeastern Line Constructors Chapter (SLCC NECA), based in Mooresville, North Carolina, has secured a primary sponsorship agreement with Garrett Smithley and SS-Green Light Racing, in collaboration with BRK Racing, for three NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races in 2026. This partnership will place SLCC NECA as the main sponsor at key races held at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway, highlighting their shared values of precision and teamwork.

Selected NASCAR Events Will Feature SLCC Branding

The collaboration will prominently feature SLCC NECA branding during three major NASCAR events: the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on February 21, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on April 25, and the Focused Health 250 back at Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 11. Each race is scheduled for prime evening times, offering significant exposure for SLCC NECA within the NASCAR community.

Shared Commitment to Safety and Performance Between Industries

Both the electrical construction and NASCAR sectors rely on coordinated, disciplined crews managing challenging, high-pressure environments. SLCC NECA represents powerline contractors who build and maintain essential electrical infrastructure across the Southeastern United States, ensuring communities are powered safely and reliably. This mission parallels the precision needed for success on the race track, where every team member’s role is crucial to overall performance.

Garrett Smithley Expresses Enthusiasm for New Partnership

Garrett Smithley, driving the #0 Chevrolet, voiced his excitement about the partnership, saying,

“I’m very excited to represent SLCC this year. It’s going to be a fun partnership at some great racetracks. Working with a blue-collar organization is perfectly aligned with our team and the sport!”

SLCC NECA to Use NASCAR Platform to Promote Trade Careers

Through this sponsorship, SLCC NECA aims to utilize the widespread visibility NASCAR provides to raise awareness about career paths in the outside electrical construction industry. The organization plans to emphasize apprenticeship programs and the critical role powerline contractors play in restoring and maintaining the electrical grid, especially in the Southeast. This effort supports workforce development by showcasing the skilled trades as a vital and exciting field.
