Kyle Busch Secures 3rd Straight Atlanta Truck Win

Kyle Busch claimed his third consecutive victory at Atlanta in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Saturday, February 21, overcoming a late-race time restriction at EchoPark Speedway. Driving the No. 7 truck for Spire Motorsports, Busch managed to fend off a strong challenge from several NASCAR Cup Series competitors as officials cut the race short due to weather delays.

Heavy rain earlier in the day delayed the race start to nearly 3 p.m. ET. With a NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event scheduled later, NASCAR announced that at precisely 4:20 p.m. ET, the race would shift to a strict two-lap sprint regardless of the lap count completed, putting pressure on drivers to make decisive moves within the shortened timeframe.

Race Developments Highlight Multiple Stage Winners and Incidents

Corey Heim, the reigning Truck Series champion, made a strong statement in his 2026 season debut by winning the first stage in the No. 1 TRICON Garage truck. The second stage appeared set for Ben Rhodes, who was contending for a stage win on his 29th birthday, but he ran out of fuel just before the checkered flag, allowing Stewart Friesen to secure the stage victory. This marked only Friesen’s second race back after a serious crash last July during a Super DIRTcar Series competition.

Rhodes briefly fell a lap behind but managed to regain position with a free pass during the final stage. The largest incident occurred when Cole Butcher and Dawson Sutton collided with the frontstretch wall head-on after going low on the apron to avoid other trucks, bringing out the race’s sole caution period.

Final Laps Feature Intense Battle Among Top Drivers

As the clock ticked down to the imposed time limit, the lead exchanged hands multiple times among Busch, Rhodes, Friesen, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and others. Busch ultimately held the top spot with critical support from his Spire Motorsports teammate, Carson Hocevar, giving him the edge needed to cross the finish line first. This victory marked Busch’s ninth career win at Atlanta and his 68th overall in the Truck Series.
