Front Row Motorsports delivered varied performances during the recent race at EchoPark Speedway, with drivers encountering both strong moments and setbacks. The team aimed to secure solid points despite complications, featuring notable efforts from Chandler Smith and Layne Riggs in their runs at the track.
Chandler Smith Shows Resilience Amid Difficulties
Chandler Smith finished sixth overall, after placing 11th in the first stage and improving to fourth in the second. Smith praised the truck’s handling despite some speed challenges, describing the QuickTie Ford F-150 as “pretty solid.” He acknowledged a pit road penalty late in the race but emphasized the team’s ability to rebound quickly. Smith stated,
“It was a solid day all in all… I was able to be aggressive and make moves and be able to get back up to the front after we had a pit road penalty at the very end. That definitely didn’t help us any, but we were able to bounce back and recover pretty nicely.”

Layne Riggs Struggles Continue Amid Bad Luck
Layne Riggs faced a frustrating race, finishing 27th after ranks of 13th and 10th in the two stages. Riggs encountered handling issues that fluctuated between tight and loose conditions and suffered tire damage following contact with Carson Hocevar. He remained hopeful for improvement, stating,
“It’s been a frustrating start to the season, but honestly, it feels like we’ve just had some bad luck… That’s tough to swallow, but I know what this team is capable of. We’ll keep pushing and the results will come.”
