Alex Bowman Exits NASCAR Race Early Amid Health Concerns

Alex Bowman left the NASCAR Cup Series event at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) prematurely on Sunday after experiencing health issues. With 25 laps remaining, Bowman brought his No. 48 team car into the garage to begin a driver change, citing concerns about his ability to complete the race. Bowman’s illness and position near the back of the field led the team to allow him to decide whether to continue, and he opted to step out of the vehicle and receive medical attention at the care center.

Myatt Snider Steps In To Complete the Race

Replacing Bowman, Myatt Snider took over driving duties for the No. 48 Chevrolet. Prior to the swap, Snider, who previously raced in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2025, had been assisting in the pit area as a spotter for FOX Sports reporter Jamie Little. Hendrick Motorsports reached out to Snider to complete the race after Bowman’s withdrawal.

Current Status and Ongoing Developments

Bowman is currently receiving treatment, and the situation remains under observation as the race progresses. The decision underscores the unpredictable nature of racing, where driver health can influence participation and team strategy.
